6 Ways to Stay Engaged

6 Ways to Stay Engaged

Swim School Owners: I want to give you 6 relevant actions you can take during this testing time to keep your fans and followers engaged on your social media pages.

1. Free Downloadable Activities

The Swimming Teacher's Association (STA) has put together a comprehensive list of swimming and safety-related downloadable activities. If you are short of time, why not share this with your parents on your Facebook page or send it to them via email?

The downloadable resources include a range of interactive worksheets, fun colouring-in sheets and a comprehensive water safety activity booklet to teach children how to stay safe in and around water in a fun and engaging way.

Let's get the community together during this hard time and let's keep learning activated!

2. Create Your Own Resources

Be inspired and create educational resources for your swimmers.

Parents might be looking for ideas to keep their kids occupied with age-appropriate activities that are both entertaining and educational.

For example:

  • Word Search
  • Colouring In Pages
  • Dot to Dot
  • Word Scramble

3. Bathtime Tips

A simple activity that parents can practise in the bath. You can make it into a video with a song.

For example:

  • blowing bubbles
  • getting their head wet by pouring water over your child's head
  • floating on their back

4. Land-Based Exercises

Land-based exercises, movements and activities to assist with coordination, muscle tone and core strength.

You can put a few exercises together that they can download, print or even make a video explaining these exercises!

For example:

  • Arm Circles
  • Alternating Leg Action
  • Baby Massage
  • Outdoor / Indoor Activities

5. A Colouring In Competition

Create a picture the kids can download, print and colour in. Everyone can upload their picture in the comments of your Facebook post.

6. An Online Programme

Empower parents to teach their children to swim safely and correctly in simple steps.

Create an online program with:

  • lesson plans
  • videos
  • downloadable resources
  • water safety material

Use your free time during COVID-19 to be productive. Be creative and brainstorm ways that you can add value to your fans and followers.

Doing this will keep your customers engaged and brand you as an expert in your industry!

Not only that, but it will build the “know, like and trust factor” for potential customers. All this will stand you in good stead to re-open your swim school with a bang!

Be proactive, stay positive and use this time to recharge!

Thank you so much Tori. Some excellent yet "common sense ideas". I will definitely use these ideas. As I have said before I am meant to be"downsizing", but will nevertheless keep in contact with my existing swimmers from last season.

Such excellent ideas as usual Tori. You are helping so many people to stay motivated and inspired to keep going at this time. You have taught me so much about social media and even though I am more or less "retired" you have helped me realise that there are definitely ways and means for me to carry on doing what I love to do and to share all my years of experience and knowledge with others. So uplifting for me! Thank you so much!
